About the position

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of equipment, including PLCs, I/Os, and other automated systems. The role requires a strong technical background in electrical circuitry, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics, with a focus on ensuring equipment reliability and performance. The technician will work under minimal supervision and is expected to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot issues with circuitry, programs, controllers, and sensors to ensure equipment functionality while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical devices after repairs.
  • Install and remove primary components and assemblies, making necessary connections to controls, panels, and related devices.
  • Coordinate with plant personnel to maintain maximum equipment utilization.
  • Participate in tracking project open issues and work orders for all projects.
  • Investigate root causes of quality failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Monitor equipment cycles for predictive maintenance activities.
  • Lead major equipment rebuild activities and verify the quality of preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in the setup, start-up, and operation of production runs, focusing on cycle improvement.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience or schooling, with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot I/Os of PLC and Client devices.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical diagrams is essential.
  • Familiarity with IEC standards is preferred.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on all equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and procedures is required.
  • Ability to perform electrical work from facility power to repairing non-automated machines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to find work independently.
  • Physical capability to lift, twist, bend, squat, climb, stand, and walk continuously in confined spaces.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality.
