About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Sea Pines Resort LLC involves performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks under the direction of the Home & Villa Maintenance Manager, Facility Maintenance Manager, and Director of Facility Services. This role is essential in ensuring that the facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition, adhering to health and fire regulations. The technician will assist in executing preventative maintenance programs and will be required to work during holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed. The technician will be responsible for general repair maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks, which include learning complex systems such as lighting, HVAC, and sound control. Specific duties involve replacing faucets, ice makers, toilets, and dishwashers, troubleshooting electrical fixtures, and repairing windows and doors. The technician will also be tasked with maintaining and servicing kitchen and emergency equipment, installing fire extinguishers, and ensuring that all tools and equipment are in working condition. In addition to general maintenance, the technician will perform electrical repair work, plumbing maintenance, and painting tasks. This includes identifying plumbing issues, repairing leaks, maintaining sewer and supply lines, and applying various finishes to surfaces. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining maintenance inventory records, preparing reports, and monitoring maintenance schedules to ensure timely task completion. Overall, this position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to providing excellent service to guests and staff alike.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repair maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Learn and troubleshoot complex lighting, HVAC, and sound control systems.
  • Replace faucets, ice makers, toilets, and dishwashers as needed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical light fixtures, switches, receptacles, and appliances.
  • Repair and maintain windows and doors, including locks and hinges.
  • Maintain buildings and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory records and prepare reports.
  • Repair and treat structures such as floors, showers, sinks, and walls.
  • Perform electrical repair work including wiring for switches and outlets.
  • Identify and repair plumbing problems, including leaks and breaks.
  • Apply and prepare surfaces for painting and wall covering repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in hotel maintenance preferred.
  • General carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Possession of a valid South Carolina driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Various certifications in maintenance areas are beneficial but not required.
