About the position

The Full Time Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the functionality and condition of affordable housing properties. The role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Perform maintenance and installation of systems, including replacing light bulbs, cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels, and changing furnace filters.
• Assist in the setup of systems and conduct repairs as necessary, maintaining heating and plumbing systems for functionality.
• Navigate smart phone and electronic work orders effectively.
• Inspect alarm systems and schedule repairs when needed.
• Perform manual repairs, such as fixing locks and replacing windows.
• Carry out a variety of maintenance tasks including painting, HVAC troubleshooting, janitorial work, inspections, landscaping, and snow removal.

Requirements

• Maintenance experience is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Basic technology skills, including familiarity with smartphones and computers.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or a relevant field is a plus.
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.
