About the position

The Maintenance Technician at BRIDGE Housing Corporation is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the Sitka Apartments property and individual resident units. This role ensures that the property is maintained to high standards, providing residents with a safe and well-kept living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and cleaning of individual apartment units, including unit turns/make-ready tasks such as kitchen appliances, garbage disposals, faucets, toilets, locks, painting, re-caulking, and carpet cleaning.
  • Maintain the exterior of the property, including gates, entrances, garage doors, and trash pick-up and removal.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of interior courtyards and walkways, including light fixtures, hallways, inside windows, and vents.
  • Manage trash and garbage enclosures.
  • Maintain laundry rooms and washer/dryer equipment.
  • Keep the front lobby, community rooms, and leasing office clean and well-maintained.
  • Work with outside vendors and contractors to fulfill work orders.
  • Occasionally clean the property and common areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of prior experience in facilities maintenance, upkeep, and repair, preferably in an apartment or residential setting.
  • Knowledge in basic home repair and troubleshooting, including electrical, plumbing, home appliances, and kitchen & bathroom upkeep, remodel, or installations.
  • Ability to work positively and cooperatively with others.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in handling maintenance and cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds from a standing position.
  • Ability to lift objects overhead, pivot, and return to the original position.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and work 30 minutes or longer in a crouched position.
