The Maintenance Technician at DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Lancaster plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and productivity of the hotel's facilities. This position is essential for maintaining the first impression of the property for guests, residents, clients, and the community. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Manager of Maintenance, General Manager, Front Desk Staff, and Housekeeping Staff to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The role requires a well-rounded individual with knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical maintenance, who can utilize their skills to keep the property in excellent condition for both guests and team members. In this full-time position, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a variety of essential duties. These include completing room preventative maintenance and associated documentation, managing key cards and locks, troubleshooting various equipment such as pumps, motors, HVAC systems, and kitchen equipment, and responding to plumbing issues. The technician will also maintain the swimming pool and its equipment, perform water quality tests, and document readings in compliance with state laws. Additionally, the role involves cleaning and preparing areas for painting, responding to emergency calls, and assisting with pest control documentation. The technician will also be responsible for snow removal and maintaining cleanliness around the property, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests. The Maintenance Technician is expected to work in a team-oriented environment, assisting and communicating with fellow team members and leaders. This position requires a friendly and outgoing demeanor, as the technician will interact with guests and the general public, providing excellent customer service. The role may require schedule adjustments to meet the seasonal demands of the hospitality industry, and the technician will perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Completes room Preventative Maintenance and associated documentation.
  • Responsible for key cards, locks and securing mechanical rooms as well as other areas of the building.
  • Troubleshoots pumps, motors, HVAC equipment, kitchen equipment and lighting.
  • Cleans, changes filters and troubleshoots HVAC systems.
  • Responds and resolves plumbing problems including clogs, broken faucets and toilets, leaks in the domestic water supply as well as the sanitation lines.
  • Maintains swimming pool and associated equipment, performs water quality tests and documents readings in accordance with state laws.
  • Cleans and prepares areas to be painted, completes touch up painting and finish coat painting.
  • Responds to emergency calls, or when an alarm is triggered and sent to the monitoring company.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet deadlines.
  • Works in a team-oriented environment and is expected to assist, communicate and coordinate repairs with fellow team members and team leaders.
  • Assists with maintaining pest control logs and documentation as well as activities required to control pest activity.
  • Removes snow from roofs, sidewalks and parking lots, maintains walking surfaces to avoid icy, slippery conditions.
  • Picks up and removes litter and cigarette butts from trash receptacles, parking lots, landscape beds and turf areas.
  • Assists the housekeeping department to clean facilities and turn mattresses.
  • Provides excellent customer service to guests and the general public's requests.
  • Follows established company policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance and consistency with all team members and guests.

Requirements

  • A current valid Pennsylvania driver's license is required.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and electrical maintenance.
