About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining various machinery and mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently under the direction of the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, including heating systems, plumbing, electrical systems, pneumatic tools, and welding equipment.
• Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
• Examine parts for imperfections and adjust functional parts and control instruments as needed.
• Lubricate and clean parts to ensure proper functioning.
• Start machines to test their performance after repairs.
• Set up and operate metal working tools and machines to make and repair parts.
• Initiate purchase orders for necessary parts and machines.
• Perform building maintenance as needed and complete other assigned projects.
• Ensure equipment is operating properly before use in manufacturing processes.
• Follow all OSHA and safety policies and use required PPE equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using the 5S standard.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training in maintenance or a similar field.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of various trades.
• Possess required tools for the job.
• Knowledge of all processes used in product manufacturing.
