About the position

The Maintenance Technician at IHG Hotels & Resorts is responsible for repairing and maintaining the hotel's physical assets to ensure compliance with state and local government requirements, hotel policies, and brand standards. The role focuses on maintaining a high level of excellence for guests by performing various maintenance tasks throughout the property, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic upkeep throughout the property for all rooms and common areas.
  • Repair and/or replace plumbing equipment as needed.
  • Handle minor in-house repairs including bathroom tile replacement, wallboard repairs, painting, carpentry, and carpet cleaning.
  • Ensure all furniture, fixtures, door locks, and electrical equipment are in working order.
  • Conduct systematic checks of guest room electrical appliances, circuits, televisions, refrigerators, and light fixtures.
  • Locate and correct issues with HVAC systems and adjust units as necessary.
  • Inspect and maintain hotel exterior areas, parking lot, and landscaping.
  • Maintain and clean hotel whirlpool/spa and swimming pool.
  • Familiarize with major shut-off stations including water, electric, and fire alarm systems.
  • Report requests for major repairs to the Chief Engineer.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools, workspaces, equipment, and property grounds.
  • Utilize basic hand and power tools for general maintenance tasks.
  • Complete preventive maintenance program checklists and maintenance records.
  • Ensure security for guests and property by keeping room doors locked and reporting suspicious activity.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms as needed.
  • Respond to staff and guest requests for immediate repairs.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and uniform.
  • Greet guests, visitors, and staff in a courteous manner.

Requirements

  • 1 year of hotel maintenance experience (Required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Fluent in English (Required)
  • Work authorization in the United States (Required)
