About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining various machinery and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. The technician will work with a variety of systems including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic, and will be expected to handle both routine and emergency maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Performs preventive maintenance to production machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing.
• Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Maintains fixtures and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Diagnoses repair issues and maintains the physical structure of fixtures and equipment.
• Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts and operates cutting torch to cut metal parts.
• Repairs or replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Maintains facility's utilities and support equipment including air, water, drain, steam, hydraulic, and electric systems.
• Ensures personal safety and the safety of team members while operating machinery.
• Maintains a clean work environment and performs routine cleaning of equipment and general housekeeping.
• Collects and handles solid and hazardous waste generated at the work site.

Requirements

• Five years of maintenance technician experience required.
• Ability to utilize hand-held tools, both manual and powered.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, painting, greasing, oiling, grinding, and drilling.
• Ability to weld and cut with gas torches and troubleshoot machine controls.
• Knowledgeable in hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic controls, materials, and components.
• Ability to operate, set, and adjust machinery as needed.
• Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures and maintain proper documentation.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and maneuver 200lbs without assistance.
• Ability to take oral direction and work successfully in a team environment.
• Ability to read and speak English.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledgeable in PLC and computer controls, relay ladder logic, and electronic controls preferred.
