About the position

The Maintenance Technician role at Kelly Services involves ensuring the operational efficiency of a facility by performing repairs, upgrades, and maintenance on various equipment. This position is critical in maintaining machinery functionality and safety standards, and it offers a direct hire opportunity with a Tier 1 automotive supplier. Technicians will work across multiple shifts and are expected to collaborate with other departments to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and troubleshoot faults in machinery, dismantle parts as necessary, and accurately reassemble the equipment.
  • Work in collaboration with fellow maintenance personnel and various departments for machinery repairs.
  • Foster and sustain positive relationships with all supporting departments.
  • Conduct thorough checks on repaired equipment and log the machine's overall condition.
  • Install new production units and assess existing production machinery for functionality.
  • Interpret and comprehend blueprints.
  • Perform tasks including Fabrication, Welding, Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, Pipefitting, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic work.
  • Adhere to all preventative maintenance schedules and requirements as dictated by Government, Company, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
  • Uphold 5-S housekeeping standards, adhere to all Safety guidelines, protocols, policies, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in repairing manufacturing machinery.
  • Certification and maintenance of Hi-Lo, Crane, Ariel Lift, LOTO, ARC Flash, Electrical Safety, & Portable Power Tool Safety, & Permit Required Confined Space Certifications.
  • Competence in basic pipefitting, welding, electrical repairs, hydraulic systems, and the ability to read prints.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing stamping press machinery, related equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, lubrication, mechanical, single-phase, and three-phase electrical systems, as well as PLC-based machinery.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand both simple and complex instructions.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Efficient management of time by properly prioritizing tasks.
