About the position

The Maintenance Technician role at Barkley Village involves performing general maintenance and repairs across 23 buildings within a 250-acre urban village. This entry-level position offers opportunities for growth and requires responding to work orders, performing routine maintenance tasks, and assisting with special projects. The technician will also be part of the Emergency Response team for after-hour alarms and building issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs for 23 buildings and grounds.
• Respond to work orders and tenant requests in a timely manner.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing filters and cleaning drains.
• Check electrical systems and replace light bulbs as needed.
• Assist with special projects and events as required.
• Monitor building system operations and performance under supervision.
• Implement maintenance and repairs while troubleshooting problems.
• Maintain positive working relationships with tenants.
• Assist with or facilitate repair and replacement of light fixtures and motors.
• Assist with basic and emergency plumbing repairs.
• Learn and assist with re-keying and lock repairs when necessary.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Team-oriented with a sense of ownership over responsibilities.

• Knowledge of fire suppression and access control systems.
