About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities within a fast-paced fabrication shop. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing various machinery, with a strong emphasis on welding and manufacturing maintenance. The technician will work closely with a team to maintain compliance with safety protocols and ensure the upkeep of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance on welding and manufacturing equipment as needed.
  • Repair and troubleshoot Sub-Arc Welding Machines and Plasma Cutting Table System.
  • Conduct facilities maintenance and upkeep in collaboration with a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Comply with all safety and security protocols.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment, machines, and facility grounds to identify problems for correction or repair.
  • Participate in an inspection program for tools and devices such as chains, straps, ladders, and grinders.
  • Maintain accurate logs of preventive maintenance and inspections completed.
  • Remove defective tools or machinery from service and initiate lock out tag out procedures when appropriate.
  • Report assets identified for disposal to management.
  • Clean and maintain the facility.
  • Participate in training to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in welding and/or other manufacturing equipment knowledge.
  • Experience in repair and troubleshooting of Sub-Arc Welding Machines and Plasma Cutting Tables.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions.
  • Solid knowledge of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical systems, and building fixtures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate, diagnose, and repair a variety of manufacturing equipment including cranes, welding machines, forklifts, brake presses, rollers, compressors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, effective time management, problem-solving skills, and effective communication.
