About the position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and facilities in a manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on experience with various fabrication and manufacturing equipment, as well as the ability to respond to emergencies and maintain safety standards. The technician will engage in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Activate and deactivate building alarms and respond to alarm calls and emergencies after and during regular work hours.
• Master hand and power tools; machining or tool room experience is a plus.
• Demonstrate mechanical ability, carpentry skills, and knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Perform welding and basic metal fabrication tasks.
• Utilize electrical and electronic skills, including reading schematics and troubleshooting.
• Install various power sources, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computer networking.
• Operate forklifts, manlifts, and overhead cranes.
• Oversee outsourced vendor activity to ensure compliance with sourcing policies and procedures.
• Conduct basic HVAC function and maintenance tasks.
• Engage in special projects, renovations, and upgrades as assigned.
• Enforce company and OSHA safety programs.
• Maintain manufacturing initiatives such as '5S'.
• Generate work orders and maintain record keeping.
• Implement a Preventative Maintenance program consistent with ISO 9001 practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, plus at least 2 years of technical or college-level education.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, and fabrication required.
• Basic computer skills are necessary.
• On-call availability for emergencies is required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching, stretching, carrying, bending, lifting, walking, climbing stairs, and driving in various weather conditions.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening upon employment and subsequent random screenings.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Experience in a 'just in time' manufacturing environment is preferred.
