About the position

Rockfon is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team at the Chicago facility. This full-time position involves supporting production and other departments by troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, upgrading, and building machinery. The role emphasizes continuous improvement of methods and machinery to enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Execute work for PM's, work orders, & calls in a timely manner with a high level of quality.
  • Troubleshoot & repair issues on and off production machinery.
  • Setup and operate various maintenance equipment including torches, welders, and forklifts.
  • Proficiently work with PLC's, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Fabricate, fit, and assemble parts to repair or modify machinery using machine tools and hand tools.
  • Study blueprints and specifications to plan sequences of operations for new machinery installation.
  • Conduct test runs with completed machinery to ensure specifications are met.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and engineering projects.
  • Maintain personal computer data records for tasks and machinery.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.

Requirements

  • Certificate as a Maintenance Technician or similar.
  • 3 years of experience in maintenance & continuous improvement of machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently for an entire shift.
  • Desire & ability to learn new methods, machinery, & techniques.
  • Good computer skills in a MS Windows environment.
  • Proficient in verbal/written English and effective communication.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • 10 years of total experience in maintenance & continuous improvement of machinery and processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of maintenance experience (preferred).
