About the position

Hornig Companies is seeking a full-time Multi-site Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role involves responding to work orders, preparing units for new move-ins, and performing preventative maintenance at multiple apartment locations near the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis Campus. The position emphasizes a commitment to customer service and maintaining the integrity of historical and aging buildings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair apartment maintenance issues such as plumbing, electrical, and minor construction repairs.
• Prepare units for new move-ins and perform preventative maintenance.
• Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring and compassionate manner.
• Provide expertise on building repair to prevent future maintenance concerns.

Requirements

• Mechanical knowledge with at least 1 year of experience.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to meet car insurance requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to work an 8-12 week rotating on-call schedule.
• Willingness to learn and work independently as well as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Special Boiler's License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Multi-housing experience.
