About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Merakey is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks across multiple locations in the Greater Philadelphia region, including New Jersey and Delaware. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, completing daily work assignments, and maintaining the physical plant through various repair and maintenance activities. The technician will also be on-call for emergency maintenance responsibilities and is expected to uphold the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with the policies and procedures associated with Merakey and comply with them in all aspects of the job.
  • Report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Comply with the work schedule and report any absences or lateness.
  • Complete daily work assignments made by the program supervisor.
  • Attend periodic staff meetings and mandatory in-service trainings.
  • Uphold the missions, values, and philosophy for Service of Merakey.
  • Assume on-call coverage for emergency maintenance responsibilities.
  • Perform desk and furniture repair, surface preparation, and painting.
  • Conduct wall and ceiling tile repairs, electrical repairs, roof repairs, HVAC system maintenance, parking lot repairs, plumbing repairs, and lock repairs.
  • Perform necessary renovations and upgrades to the physical plant.
  • Conduct walkthrough inspections of sites and report repairs in a timely manner.
  • Work on assigned projects independently or with others.

Requirements

  • Must be 25 years old or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and preferably have personal transportation.
  • Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in maintenance.
  • Must have skills and knowledge in all phases of maintenance repairs, including carpentry, light electrical work, plumbing, drywall, spackle repairs, and painting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with power tools and equipment.
