About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Niagara Bottling is responsible for ensuring the uptime of production equipment through effective troubleshooting and repair. This role involves working with various machinery and systems, including injection molders, blow molders, and auxiliary equipment, to maintain operational efficiency. The technician collaborates with machine operators and other team members to resolve mechanical issues and proposes solutions to recurring problems, contributing to a dynamic and entrepreneurial work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at the facility.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment according to defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems and ensure safe operation of machinery.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Fill in for production operators as needed and create reports on repairs throughout the shift.
  • Complete required work order paperwork and document parts and material usage.
  • Understand and follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience in a similar maintenance environment.
  • 4 years of experience in the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Skilled in using shop equipment such as hydraulic presses and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment like calipers and dial indicators.
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within the plant.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, or packaging industries.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and servo motors.
  • Experience with rotary equipment and HVAC systems.
  • Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding.
  • Experience working with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power.
