About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the property, buildings, and grounds under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager. This role involves performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and Fair Housing laws.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for inventory, ordering, and delivery of all necessary supplies and equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor/Community Manager.
• Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the property including general repairs to the heating and air system, appliances, and other necessary repairs common to multifamily dwellings.
• Responsible for the preparation of vacant units for occupancy.
• Responsible for completing preventative maintenance tasks including blowing off building roofs, cleaning out gutters, and crawling under buildings to inspect for issues.
• Responsible for thorough knowledge of management company policies and procedures, and the property community policies including following both the letter and spirit of Fair Housing laws and other applicable laws and regulations.
• Responsible for reporting any unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the staff, residents, or the property.
• Responsible for ensuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent with some college or special education desired.
• Ability to complete Special Skills classes, such as National Apartment Association CAMT.
• Two years experience in maintenance or equivalent training.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance jobs such as carpentry, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electrical repair, appliance repair, pool repair and cleaning, painting and other maintenance functions that are typical to multi-family housing.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
