About the position
The Maintenance Technician at EQI is responsible for the general maintenance of the facility's equipment, ensuring optimal production timelines and minimizing downtime. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various mechanical systems, while also ensuring workspace safety and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance of the facility and grounds.
- Inspect equipment and systems for any issues.
- Schedule repairs and install mechanical equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations.
- Complete periodic maintenance of equipment and machinery following recommended upkeep schedules.
- Troubleshoot common issues with equipment and assist operators in restoring productivity.
- Repair machines to limit equipment downtime during production.
- Evaluate workspace safety on the production floor to ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Complete a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical jobs, and HVAC work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while completing maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four or more years of experience in equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of skilled trades such as HVAC, electrical, or carpentry.
- Formal training/certifications in mechanical and electrical systems and fabrication preferred.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and parts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
