About the position

Forefront Healthcare is seeking dedicated Maintenance Technicians to join our team at our Atmore and Brewton facilities in Alabama. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through general maintenance and repair tasks. The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of duties that require practical skills and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. The position involves replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, as well as patching minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, toilets, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. The Maintenance Technician will also engage in tasks such as painting structures and equipment, repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, and hanging doors while installing door locks. This role requires the ability to recognize when a job exceeds the technician's skill level and requires the expertise of a licensed tradesperson. The technician will be expected to maintain detailed records of their work, order supplies, and prepare estimates for repairs and costs. Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings
  • Fix or replace faulty electrical switches, outlets, and circuit breakers
  • Inspect and diagnose problems and determine the best way to correct them
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly
  • Assemble and set up machinery or equipment
  • Plan repair work using blueprints or diagrams
  • Conduct general cleaning and upkeep of buildings and properties
  • Order supplies from catalogs and storerooms
  • Prepare estimates for repairs and costs
  • Keep detailed records of work performed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience desired
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification within the first six months of employment
  • Practical skill and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work
