About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Oak Grove Gaming, Racing, & Hotel is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of machinery and equipment within the facility. This role involves troubleshooting malfunctions, performing routine maintenance, and executing repairs across various systems, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. The technician collaborates with Facilities Management to manage maintenance tasks, vendor interactions, and special projects, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in collaboration with Facilities management.
• Contact vendors, schedule maintenance visits, and request pricing information with management approval.
• Develop special projects, propose new equipment, and work with suppliers on specifications and pricing.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Dismantle and reassemble defective machines and equipment.
• Maintain and properly store all maintenance inventory, supplies, and equipment.
• Install new or repaired parts in machinery and equipment.
• Document status of maintenance work tickets, including time and costs, using a computerized maintenance management program.
• Clean and lubricate machinery components such as shafts, bearings, and gears.
• Install and/or repair wiring and electrical components.
• Assemble, install, and/or repair plumbing systems.
• Paint and repair woodwork and plaster as needed.
• Fabricate and repair wooden structures like counters and partitions.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including drywall repair, carpentry, and flooring repair.
• Keep tools and supplies clean and organized.
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and building systems.
• Report unsafe work practices or property conditions to Facilities Management.

Requirements

• Experience in insulating, welding, machine and equipment repair, carpentry, and electrical work.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a professional attitude.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a Kentucky gaming/racing license.
