About the position

The Maintenance Technician role at Aerotek involves providing essential maintenance support to ensure the continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment in a food-grade facility. The technician will conduct preventative maintenance, assist with mechanical breakdowns, and participate in major overhauls of plant equipment. This position requires hands-on work with various machinery and systems, including electrical troubleshooting and welding.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support for packaging and processing equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance for the plant.
• Assist with breakdowns and mechanical issues throughout the plant.
• Participate in major overhauls of plant equipment.
• Perform minor repairs to all plant equipment.
• Work on 3 phase motors, conveyors, and belting for different lines.
• Operate forklifts and fork trucks as needed.
• Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of the facilities.
• Change drive belts, timing belts, and other parts on machinery.
• Change filters and oils in plant equipment.
• Maintain water chemistry in necessary systems.
• Identify and replace bearings and seals as required.
• Troubleshoot both AC and DC systems.
• Perform TIG, MIG, and arc welding on carbon and stainless steel.

Requirements

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting.
• Strong maintenance skills.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with ammonia systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Experience working with 3 phase motors.
• Knowledge of AC/DC systems and control circuits.
• Welding skills (TIG, MIG, arc).
• Forklift operation experience.
