Beacon Management is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for The Shores Apartments located in Harrison Township, MI. As a part of Beacon Property Management, which proudly owns and operates 54 residential housing communities across the United States, the Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the physical integrity and operational efficiency of the property. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring that all service requests are handled promptly and effectively. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance, with an emphasis on completing repairs and services on schedule to enhance the living experience of our residents. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will also participate in an on-call rotation, providing 24-hour emergency maintenance service as needed. This includes responding to urgent service requests and ensuring that all make-ready repairs are completed correctly and efficiently. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining the curb appeal of the community, which involves tasks such as landscaping, snow removal, and general upkeep of the grounds. Responsibilities

  • Effectively handle service requests, correcting the situation within 24 hours when possible.
  • Ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure 24 hour emergency maintenance service and response.
  • Maintain the curb appeal of the community by picking up the grounds, removing snow and debris, and working on landscaping and common area needs.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of the property.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and locks.
  • Current, valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to develop rapport with residents and community staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
