About the position
Hexcel is currently seeking Maintenance Technicians for our Decatur, AL, USA location. The selected individuals will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of plant installations, installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and servicing plant buildings, grounds, piping, equipment, mechanical components, and systems while complying with all safety and environmental requirements, industry and plant standards/codes, and best practices. They will also perform preventative maintenance inspections and service activities, communicate and work effectively with Operators, Engineers, other Maintenance Technicians, and Supervision while providing regular work status updates, and perform work in their area of expertise such as pipe fabrication/welding, precision machining, and rigging.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the integrity of plant installations by following applicable specifications/standards, and using in-kind components, materials, and practices for repair and service work
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and service plant buildings, grounds, piping, equipment, mechanical components, and systems while complying with all safety and environmental requirements, industry and plant standards/codes, and best practices
- Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and service activities
- Communicate and work effectively with Operators, Engineers, other Maintenance Technicians, and Supervision while providing regular work status updates
- Perform work in area of expertise (e.g., pipe fabrication / welding, precision machining, precision machine service and/or rigging); review and/or oversee performance of similar work by outside service providers
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two year or higher technical degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing and/or production environment, experience in a continuous chemical processing environment is preferred
- Journeyman (or equivalent) pipe welder, machinist, or millwright with proficiency in general mechanical maintenance
- May require 12 hour rotating shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends
