About the position

The Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of a property, ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This role involves performing routine maintenance and repairs across various systems and components within the property.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the community.
• Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repair tasks as directed.
• Examine and repair electrical circuits and components.
• Repair and replace plumbing systems and fixtures, including unclogging drains.
• Maintain A/C and heating systems.
• Examine, diagnose, and repair components of major appliances.
• Repair stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, and flooring.
• Maintain roofing, gutters, and fasteners.
• Repair and maintain interior/exterior lights, fireplaces, and ceiling fans.
• Service gas fixtures and appliances where applicable.
• Repair and maintain shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, and sliding glass doors.
• Address ceiling leaks and repair damaged plaster/drywall surfaces.
• Paint and repair any areas as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in one or more trades preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years multi-family maintenance experience required.
• Basic understanding of principles and procedures of building maintenance.
• Ability to perform sustained manual labor.
