About the position

The Maintenance Technician is a skilled professional responsible for the routine maintenance and repair of industrial plant equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining various mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantles, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical and mechanical controls and devices on various industrial equipment.
  • Installs and troubleshoots motors, drivers, starters, and IO/circuits.
  • Performs building maintenance and installs electrical devices, compressed air, and natural gas systems.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and applies safe operating procedures during work.
  • Completes written records and maintains logs as required.
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Assembles machines and fastens them to foundations or other structures.
  • Installs robots and selects programs for operation.
  • Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit, and drills holes for wiring.
  • Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
  • Performs minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
  • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts organized.
  • Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
  • Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment in Electrical Maintenance or as a Millwright.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for safe operation of various equipment and tools.
  • Relevant education/training preferred, such as an Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or accredited Millwright certificate.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience with RS Logix/Allen Bradley PLC's and ABB/Motoman/Fanuc controls and robots.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and ability to apply it.
  • Ability to interpret and apply written and numerical information from drawings or blueprints.
