About the position

As a Maintenance Technician at ResCare Community Living, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. Your primary focus will be on performing preventative maintenance tasks as outlined in our Preventive Maintenance Program. This includes conducting vehicle home or facility inspections as directed, assisting with pest control when necessary, and completing minor repairs such as patching holes, painting, and fixing furniture, doorknobs, and locks. You will also be responsible for clearing obstructions in drains and toilets, repairing washers, dryers, dishwashers, and small appliances, and replacing light bulbs and cover plates. In addition to these tasks, you will assist with vehicle repairs and may be required to make repairs without direct instruction. You will also be responsible for completing purchase orders and ensuring that receipts are obtained for any purchases made. During winter months, you will clear driveways and sidewalks of snow and use appropriate materials to prevent slipping on ice. This position may involve other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, making it essential for you to be adaptable and ready to take on various tasks as needed. Responsibilities

  • Performs Preventative Maintenance per Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Assists with vehicle home or facility inspections as directed
  • Assists in pest control as required
  • Completes minor repairs such as patching holes, painting, and repairs to furniture, doorknobs, locks, and clearing obstructions in drains and toilets
  • Repairs washers, dryers, dishwashers, and small appliances
  • Replaces light bulbs and cover plates
  • Assists with any vehicle repair
  • Makes repairs as needed without instruction
  • Completes purchase orders ensuring receipt is obtained
  • Clears driveways and sidewalks of snow and uses appropriate materials to safeguard against slipping on ice
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • One-year maintenance experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State Driver's License
