About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on various types of industrial equipment, including injection molding machines and automated systems. This role requires conducting water and air quality tests, using precision measuring equipment, and managing chemicals and lubricants. The technician will also troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, ensuring optimal operation of machinery in a clean automotive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on injection molding machines, paint booths, robots, extruder systems, diecasting assembly machines, and support equipment.
  • Conduct and document water and air quality tests.
  • Use precision test and measuring equipment.
  • Handle and store chemicals and industrial lubricants.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and electronic systems at the component level.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic and pneumatic systems at the component level.
  • Troubleshoot control, injection, chilled water, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of polyurethane molding and various injection machines.
  • Access and manipulate various PLC programs for manufacturers such as Nitoman, Panasonic, and Omron.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable in the use of the NEC code book, OSHA safety manual, and general shop and electrical safety practices.
  • Knowledge of inspection, removal, installation, alignment, and lubrication of bearings, gears, belts, and chains.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems at the component level.
  • Knowledge in AC and DC theory and various PLC programming including Omron, Siemens, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and Texas Instruments.
  • Troubleshooting and programming knowledge of DC drives such as Reliance SC 500, Danfoss, and Siemens.
  • Temperature controller and thermocouple knowledge.
  • Fluent in electronic schematics and terminology.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic and pneumatic systems at the component level.
  • Ability to troubleshoot the control, injection, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of various injection machines and support robots from manufacturers such as Rauch, Buhler, UBE, and Rimrock.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in the access and manipulation of various PLC programs for manufacturers such as Nitoman, Panasonic, and Omron.
  • Ability to troubleshoot the control, injection, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of various injection machines and associated haul-off conveyors, cooling systems, and cutters.
