About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Celadon @ 9th & Broadway Apartments is a vital role responsible for the upkeep and repair of the property and individual resident units. This position requires a commitment to maintaining BRIDGE Property Management Company's high standards, ensuring that the property is presented in outstanding condition. The Maintenance Technician will perform daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that contribute to providing residents with a safe, secure, and well-maintained living environment. The role involves a variety of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to repairs, cleaning, and coordination with outside vendors and contractors to fulfill work orders. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining the exterior and interior of the property, ensuring that all areas are clean and functional, which is essential for resident satisfaction and property value.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and cleaning of individual apartment units, including turnarounds with respect to garbage disposals, toilets, locks, painting, re-caulking, and carpet cleaning.
• Maintenance of the exterior of the property including gates, entrances, garage doors, and trash pick-up and removal.
• Cleaning and maintenance of interior courtyards and walkways, including light fixtures, hallways, inside windows, and vents.
• Maintenance of trash and garbage enclosures.
• Cleaning and maintenance of laundry rooms and washer/dryer equipment.
• Upkeep of the front lobby, community rooms, and leasing office.
• Work with outside vendors and contractors to fulfill work orders.
• Occasional cleaning of the property and common areas.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of prior experience in facilities maintenance and repair, preferably in an apartment or residential setting.
• Knowledge in basic home repair and troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, home appliances, and kitchen & bathroom installations.
• Ability to work with and around people in a positive and cooperative manner.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in handling cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Able to lift 50 pounds from a standing position.
• Able to lift objects overhead, pivot, and return to the object to the original position.
• Able to bend, stoop, and work 30 minutes or longer in a crouched position.
