About the position

As a Maintenance Technician at J.W. Adams Construction, you will be responsible for providing exceptional carpentry and handyman services to maintain residential properties. This role involves working closely with clients and subcontractors to ensure high-quality workmanship and client satisfaction, while adhering to company standards and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry repairs and maintenance tasks on residential properties.
• Oversee subcontractors when on-site to ensure work is executed efficiently and at a high level of quality while also demonstrating sensitivity and respect to client schedules and privacy.
• Collaborate with the Head of Maintenance and project team to assess and troubleshoot issues and ensure collective knowledge of projects and properties is included in problem-solving and planning.
• Maintain a clear understanding of client objectives for requested work.
• Respond rapidly and address specific tasks in emergency service situations.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
• Work safely and comply with safety policies.
• Adhere to company policies regarding attendance, documentation, appearance, and client confidentiality.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a carpenter or maintenance technician in the construction industry.
• Significant knowledge of general and finish carpentry, construction methods, painting, and building science.
• Ability to solve problems and plan work efficiently and at a high quality.
• Excellent record-keeping skills, including accurate daily timesheets and engagement with service IT platforms.
• Outstanding relationship-building skills with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
