About the position
The Maintenance Technician role in Aurora, IL, is responsible for maintaining and repairing Injection Molding machines to ensure optimal production efficiency. This full-time position involves troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and fabricating machine parts as needed. The technician will work on reducing machine downtime and changing over machines for different products.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all facets of Injection Molding machines.
- Complete work orders related to machine repairs and/or preventative maintenance.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled.
- Troubleshoot equipment and repair machines.
- Design, engineer, and fabricate machine parts as required.
- Reduce downtime of machines to support production demand.
- Change over machines to other products.
Requirements
- Experience in injection molding machine repair required.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Experienced in electrical, process, pneumatic, and automation, with a base PLC knowledge/troubleshooting.
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to read mechanic and pneumatic drawings.
- Knowledge of auxiliary equipment - hydraulics, mold temperature controllers, hot runner controllers, sprue pickers, robots.
- Mold setup experience.
- Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.
Nice-to-haves
- 2 years of experience in plastics injection molding (Preferred)
