About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Proform Finishing involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring the operational efficiency of production machinery, including conveyors and robotic equipment, while performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various mechanical and electrical components.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery, primarily working on conveyors, machines, and robotic equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
  • Troubleshoot gear boxes, drive belts, couplings, bearings, flat belt splices, chains, sprockets, and belts.
  • Conduct pneumatic work on conveyors and hydraulic work on scissor tables.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from supervisors and operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Reassemble equipment after completing inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine the correct installation and operation of machinery.

Requirements

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Knowledge of drives, pumps, and batch processing.
  • Skilled in working with conveyors, motors, and drives.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance, including work with 3-phase electrical systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with schematic reading, electrical troubleshooting, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Welding skills are a plus.
