About the position
The Maintenance Technician position is an entry-level role focused on maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment, machinery, and facilities under direct supervision. The technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting the operations team in achieving effective business strategies. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in troubleshooting and equipment management while contributing to a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance as assigned by a supervisor.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and machinery using various tools.
- Maintain records related to maintenance activities.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Practice safety awareness in all actions, including machine operation and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Share information with the supervisor and team members clearly and understandably.
- Organize parts and materials in proper locations.
- Lift, move, push, pull, carry, and manipulate materials weighing up to 50lbs unaccompanied.
- Follow directions well and display a willingness to learn.
- Work with other departments to ensure overall success.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Valid state driver's license required.
- Ability to use hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, presses, cordless drills, clamps, and other small tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with hand tools and troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to read and understand basic machine schematics with little guidance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with measuring equipment to a high level of accuracy (0.001”) for diagnosing wear or damage in machine parts.
