About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Newell Brands in Winchester, VA, is a full-time role focused on ensuring the productivity and efficiency of machinery and equipment within the Commercial Group. The technician will leverage their technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems to diagnose and resolve issues, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain a safe working environment. This role requires effective communication with machine operators and leadership to address technical challenges with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines and mechanical processes continue to run smoothly.
• Diagnose faults, malfunctions, and mechanical problems and determine how to correct them.
• Use technician computer to monitor and record machine statuses and maintain daily records or logs.
• Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems.
• Maintain a safe and accident-free environment by adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Basic computer skills.
• Team player with effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Forklift experience preferred.
• Three or more years of mechanical and/or hydraulic experience or training preferred.
• Electrical experience preferred in voltages up to 460 volts.
• Experience in control circuits and programmable controllers preferred.
• Certificate or training classes in Mechatronics.
