About the position

The Maintenance Technician at American Packaging Corporation is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems within the facility. This role involves daily maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and process improvements to enhance productivity in manufacturing operations. The technician will work with various systems, including HVAC, electrical, and pneumatic systems, while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Work with the computerized maintenance system to track work orders and preventive maintenance.
• Perform PLC activities, including reading programs and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC drives, mechanical systems, pneumatic and fluid systems, and electrical issues.
• Install and troubleshoot control circuits and communication systems.
• Perform fabrication and welding assignments as needed.
• Participate in training and practice the SPOT Safety Program fundamentals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Training in National Electrical Code, NFPA 79, Arc Flash, and AC/DC Motors.
• Ability to install and troubleshoot control circuits and communication systems.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical power transmission equipment.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of compressor systems and HVAC.
• Familiarity with HMI systems in the facility.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of PLC based systems and AC/DC drive systems.
