About the position

Do you feel called to serve in a Christian Ministry? Do you want to serve where you make a difference in the lives of others? Are you looking for a life-changing work experience? If so, consider joining us at the Atlanta Mission, where we provide life-transforming experiences for everyone that joins our team: employees, clients, donors, and volunteers. We serve over 1000 men, women, and children every day by providing food, shelter, clothing, counseling, vocational and spiritual guidance. We get to experience and witness radical life transformations. As a maintenance technician, you will serve within our ministry by ensuring all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and in compliance with local regulations. In this role, you will be responsible for safely performing work orders to ensure our facilities are safe, secure, and comfortable. This includes performing preventative maintenance work orders on HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, laundry equipment, and various other systems. You will also be tasked with changing and cleaning air filters on various HVAC equipment, performing manual repairs on any/all building systems (locks, windows, doors, drywall, framing, roofing, gutters, etc.), and conducting pressure washing, painting, caulking, and silicone work orders. Additionally, you will maintain electrical lighting systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning and repairing light fixtures, and performing landscaping projects such as installing mulch, removing small trees, and trimming plants. You will assist in moving furniture, bedding, large trash items, and perform general cleanup work orders throughout our facilities. Utilizing box trucks and other fleet vehicles for picking up supplies and assisting in logistical support to all locations will also be part of your responsibilities. You must be available to respond to emergency work orders on evenings and weekends when applicable. You will uphold the following Christ-Centered values: Humbly Serve, Faithfully Steward, Courageously Innovate, Joyfully Celebrate, and Strength in Unity. These values guide our mission and the way we serve our community.
