About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining commercial properties by traveling to various customer sites. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The technician must communicate effectively with coworkers and customers while documenting work results and managing maintenance projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Abides by all safety guidelines including OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out, etc.
• Conducts regular checks of systems and equipment to identify issues and document performance.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and performs substantial repairs on equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, fire life safety systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Repairs dock equipment, building/parking lot lighting, and electrical distribution systems.
• Completes administrative tasks such as parts ordering and vendor management.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and customer staff regarding work requests and status updates.
• Documents work results in the CMMS and recommends updates to the PM list.
• May manage maintenance projects and provide guidance to subcontractors.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required; preference for those with trade school training.
• 4 years' experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills/concepts required.
• Valid driver's license and relevant operator's licenses (Fork truck, JLG) required.
• Understanding of building systems and operations including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and electronic devices.
