About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance duties, ensuring the upkeep of the facility, and responding to maintenance requests. This role involves a variety of tasks including minor repairs, cleaning, and administrative duties related to maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC maintenance.
• Clean the interior and exterior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment.
• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to the supervisor.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.
• Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to the supervisor.
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues.
• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems is a plus.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
• Experience performing routine maintenance.
