About the position

Associa is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and functionality of our managed residential properties. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents and the value of their properties. This position requires a reliable individual who is passionate about ensuring a safe and well-maintained living environment. The ideal candidate will have a reliable vehicle for picking up supplies, and mileage reimbursement will be provided. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. You will carry out various maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs, to ensure that the buildings are properly maintained. Additionally, you will clean and repair building fixtures such as lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains. Operating and performing routine maintenance and repairs on systems and equipment as needed will also be part of your responsibilities. This is an hourly full-time position with a pay range of $18 to $20 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently and that the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained.
  • Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems and equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have 3-5 years of directly related or closely related experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and clients.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, including documentation, safety, required reporting, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements, including documentation, safety, required reporting, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of state or local governmental safety requirements.
  • Ability to safely operate, climb, and perform work on ladders (1-2 stories) - 24-28ft.
  • Ability to operate a smartphone and email for day-to-day operations and basic communication/monthly expense reports.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to do supply pick-up runs.
