About the position

Associa is hiring a full-time general Maintenance Technician for its condominium community in Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate will have residential maintenance experience that includes electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills. This position is crucial for ensuring that the physical condition of the buildings is maintained and that all systems operate efficiently. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance tasks to prevent deterioration of the building's physical condition. Daily responsibilities include performing maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs to ensure that the building is properly maintained. The technician will also be tasked with cleaning and repairing building fixtures, which includes lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains. Additionally, the technician will operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems and equipment as needed. If applicable, maintaining the company-issued vehicle, including routine preventive maintenance and oil changes, will also be part of the job. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall maintenance of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Clean and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs on systems and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain company issued vehicle (routine PM's, oil changes etc.), if applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • 3 - 5 years of directly related or closely related experience.
  • Customer Service oriented, ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, interpret and complete verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
  • Reliable, dependable, on time, punctual, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
