About the position

Brookfield Properties is seeking a talented Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Villas at Shadow Creek. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our apartment community. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the quality and service that our residents expect and deserve. In this position, you will handle HVAC systems, performing repairs, cleaning, and replacements as necessary. Plumbing duties will include repairing and replacing parts, as well as installing sinks, toilets, and faucets. You will also engage in carpentry work, which involves repairing and installing doors, shelves, countertops, and locks. Painting tasks will require you to perform drywall and plaster repairs, as well as painting to maintain the aesthetic appeal of our properties. Additionally, you will be responsible for electrical and appliance maintenance, including lighting, wiring, power circuits, and replacing switches and lamps. Machinery maintenance will involve repairing and maintaining chillers, belts, pumps, and fans. Most importantly, you will be expected to provide exceptional customer service to our residents, ensuring their needs are met and their living experience is enjoyable. This role requires a proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC repairs, cleaning, and replacements.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs and installations, including sinks, toilets, and faucets.
  • Engage in carpentry work, repairing and installing doors, shelves, countertops, and locks.
  • Carry out painting tasks, including drywall and plaster repairs.
  • Maintain electrical systems and appliances, including lighting, wiring, and power circuits.
  • Repair and maintain machinery such as chillers, belts, pumps, and fans.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in Commercial Property or Multi-Unit Residential Property.
  • High School Diploma/GED required; 3-4 years of experience can offset minimum educational requirements.
  • Preferred certifications in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on property needs.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and personal accountability.
  • Customer service orientation.

  • Experience with additional maintenance tasks not specified in the job description.
  • Advanced certifications in specialized maintenance areas.
