About the position

The Maintenance Technician at Galaxy Labs is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and its equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role involves collaborating with the Operations Director and Department Managers to enhance daily operations and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The technician will also develop maintenance and safety programs, manage resources, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment.
  • Assist with implementing systems for the consistent production of high-quality cannabis, including HVAC, dehumidifiers, airflow devices, water treatment, fertigation, and CO2 enrichment.
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, repairs, installations, modifications, and renovations, supporting preventive maintenance efforts.
  • Assist with supply deliveries, inspect received shipments, and place items into dedicated storage areas.
  • Maintain all aspects of the warehouse, including equipment maintenance, audits, warranties, and general facility maintenance duties.
  • Comply with safety and local and state requirements, as well as Department of Agriculture ordinances.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Be on call and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with HVAC/R systems, logic controllers, and mechanical systems is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic computer knowledge, well versed in MS Office.
  • A valid driver's license and insurable; continued education required to maintain certifications and licenses.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in the cannabis and/or health industry highly desirable.
  • Ability to relocate before starting work.
