About the position
The Maintenance Technician position at American Plastic Molding Corp is designed for skilled professionals with extensive experience in injection molding processes. The role focuses on ensuring the operational excellence of machinery and equipment through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with safety standards. The technician will play a crucial role in maintaining production efficiency and supporting various departments within the company.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electric injection molding machines to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and repair auxiliary equipment including robots, Thermolators, conveyors, fixtures, automation equipment, grinders, and forklifts.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
- Adhere to Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) procedures and Operational Controls Procedures (OCP).
- Implement Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for equipment safety.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and analyze data to improve maintenance strategies.
- Provide support to all company departments as needed and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance roles related to injection molding equipment.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong understanding of injection molding processes and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with various departments.
