About the position

We are hiring a Maintenance Worker at Southern California Treatment Programs, for our Orange County locations, an affiliate of Rite of Passage. The Maintenance Worker is primarily responsible for repair and preventative upkeep of all House and HUB locations. The Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of tasks including general building maintenance, changing light bulbs, minor electrical repairs, repairing drywall, painting, paneling, wallpapering, sheet rock work, hanging doors, adjusting locks and door hardware, fixing or replacing broken windows and screens, hanging pictures, minor plumbing repairs, unplugging drains, replacing leaky washers, re-lighting, replacing and adjusting heaters and controls, maintaining smoke detectors and emergency lights, maintaining and installing swamp coolers/air conditioners, replacing floor tiles, carpeting and linoleum, repairing roofing, and grounds maintenance/irrigation if needed. The role also includes performing preventative maintenance on all equipment throughout the facility and responding to all emergency calls on the radio. Additionally, the Maintenance Worker will be responsible for completing required reports and documentation in a timely manner, advising management of any problematic situations, and maintaining the ROP vehicle fleet if needed and directed. This position offers growth opportunities nationwide, as we have 40 programs in 17 states, and employees are eligible for 403b matching of up to 6% after one year of employment, along with employee incentives including On-The-Spot Bonuses and Longevity Awards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and minor electrical repairs.
  • Repair drywall, paint, panel, wallpaper, and perform sheet rock work.
  • Hang doors, adjust locks and door hardware, and fix or replace broken windows and screens.
  • Hang pictures and perform minor plumbing repairs, including unplugging drains and replacing leaky washers.
  • Re-light and replace or adjust heaters and controls, and maintain smoke detectors and emergency lights.
  • Maintain and install swamp coolers and air conditioners, and replace floor tiles, carpeting, and linoleum.
  • Repair roofing and perform grounds maintenance or irrigation as needed.
  • Respond to emergency calls on the radio and perform new construction or remodel work as directed.
  • Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner and advise management of any problematic situations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a current State Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
  • Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.
