About The Position
Project FIND is dedicated to providing essential services and support to low- and moderate-income seniors, including those who are homeless. The Maintenance Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the older adult center and other designated areas, under the supervision of the Woodstock Program Director. This position is vital for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the residents and members of the center, which serves a diverse population ranging from active seniors to those who are frail or homebound. The Maintenance Worker must adhere to all standards set by the New York City Aging and Department of Health, ensuring that the facilities are clean, functional, and compliant with health regulations. The responsibilities of the Maintenance Worker include daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and maintaining floors and stairways, as well as performing minor repairs like fixing locks, painting, and replacing light bulbs. The role also involves sanitizing bathrooms, managing waste disposal, and ensuring that all supplies are stocked and available. Additionally, the Maintenance Worker will be responsible for completing necessary paperwork to comply with city regulations, transporting equipment, and setting up for special events. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting maintenance issues and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment for all center activities.
