As a Maintenance Worker at the Atterbury Job Corps Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and safety of the facility. Your primary responsibility will be to perform maintenance and repairs on various structures and systems throughout the center, which includes electrical systems, plumbing, washers/dryers, and HVAC systems. This position is not just about fixing things; it’s about making a positive impact in the lives of Job Corps students by providing them with a safe and well-maintained environment. You will work Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance while contributing to the community. In this role, you will also be involved in minor construction and repair of structural woodwork, as well as the installation of window shades or coverings and security locks. You will have the opportunity to direct students assigned to the maintenance department, providing them with guidance and support as they learn valuable skills. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance checks on buildings and equipment to ensure everything is functioning properly and to prevent future issues.
