About the position

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the upkeep and management of the physical plant in Dania Beach, Florida. This role involves performing various maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining records of routine maintenance. The position requires coordination with certified vendors for specialized repairs and installations, as well as participation in community and business-related meetings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to the Director for the management and upkeep of the physical plant.
• Maintain and repair various structures including painting, building, and installing items such as counters, cabinets, and doors.
• Conduct regular landscaping and maintenance of grounds including mowing and trimming.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure safety and aesthetics of the facility.
• Comply with all applicable OSHA regulations during maintenance work.
• Maintain working knowledge of all procedures and policies related to the physical plant.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least two years of paid general maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write reports and correspondence effectively.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms.
• Obtain CPR and First Aid Certification, Defensive Driving Certification during initial orientation.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient knowledge of the most current version of Windows or XP operating systems, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
• Understanding of basic PC concepts.
