About the position
The Maintenance Technician at Leary Management Group is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of properties, ensuring optimal operations and tenant satisfaction. This role requires a dependable and self-motivated individual who can effectively manage maintenance tasks and respond to emergencies while adhering to safety standards and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders for physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings using work order software.
- Implement routine physical improvements to the property.
- Respond to emergency situations according to departmental protocol.
- Maintain equipment, tools, supplies, and inventory logs.
- Communicate building status and changes effectively to appropriate individuals.
- Adhere to safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Act professionally and courteously with tenants, co-workers, and vendors.
- Utilize materials and tools safely and productively.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine repairs in areas such as painting, electrical, plumbing, flooring, and carpentry.
- Install and troubleshoot appliance issues including washers, dryers, stoves, and refrigerators.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 2+ years of related work experience and technical training.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for teamwork and positive relations.
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
- Safety conscious with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks for timely completion.
- 24-hour availability for emergencies and on-call rotation.
- Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work overtime on special projects as required.
- Resourceful and proactive in recognizing needs before tasks are assigned.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
- Working knowledge of tools and their proper use.
