About the position

American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of Jeld Wen, and one of the Nation's largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a position available for a Maintenance Technician - to assist our Distribution division in providing value-added goods and services to our customers. JELD-WEN is one of the world's largest door and window manufacturers, with more than 22,000 employees operating in 24 countries globally. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, JELD-WEN designs, produces, and distributes an extensive range of interior and exterior doors, wood, vinyl and aluminum windows. Hourly Rates starting at $25.44 - $28.00 Shift hrs.: 6 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. (Required OT)

Responsibilities

• Works on new installations of all power, lights, compressors, control panels, electrical service and powered industrial equipment
• Electrical repairs and troubleshooting throughout facility
• Performs routine and preventative maintenance tasks including overhaul and repair of machines, panels and conveyors
• Maintains logs of both preventative and routine maintenance as required
• Assists with various new or remodel commercial construction projects
• Other miscellaneous maintenance and construction projects as necessary

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude a must
• Experience using basic hand tools
• Able to work without assistance and direction in performing duties
• Must be able to climb ladders and perform overhead work
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
