About the position
The Facilities Technician is responsible for providing routine maintenance and repairs to building systems, equipment, and exterior property grounds. This role requires a general understanding of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life/safety systems to effectively perform maintenance duties. The technician will also assist with room setups and collaborate with campus staff on various projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to building systems and equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management.
- Assist with room setups and moving furniture as required.
- Collaborate with campus staff on scheduling and event setups.
- Make trips to local businesses to obtain materials and equipment as needed.
- Be on call after hours for urgent maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Valid state driver's license is required.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in property maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with various tools and equipment used for building maintenance and repair is necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills for basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues are required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are beneficial.
