As a Major Event Security Manager, you will manage a regional team or programs responsible for physical security, life safety, threat management, technical security, or intelligence analysis. Your role will ensure the consistent application of professional best practices in administering these programs. You will plan and organize resources to achieve the group's goals and objectives, coordinating the identification and reporting of significant issues while developing recommendations to senior management to protect the company's people, assets, and brand. You will maintain close business relationships with all lines of business in the region, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and issues/concerns are escalated appropriately. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing security plans and protocols for events, ensuring the safety of clients and associates. You will manage projects and assessments associated with the security of the event, traveling in advance to perform detailed security surveys for all identified locations. You will analyze and identify potential threats through extensive monitoring and analysis of multiple platforms. Your role will also involve maintaining close working relationships with all lines of business supporting Major Events, working directly with Intelligence, Executive Protection, and Protective Services. You will be on-call 24/7 to support the team as needed during crisis/security-related events, ensuring the health, safety, and physical security of all attendees at Bank of America sponsored or hosted events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for each event, including risk assessments, security staffing requirements, and emergency response strategies.
  • Select, train, and supervise security personnel, ensuring all security professionals are fully briefed on their responsibilities and the specifics of each event.
  • Work closely with local law enforcement, emergency services, and private security firms to ensure a coordinated approach to event security.
  • Ensure all security activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and stay updated with the latest in security technology and procedures to enhance safety measures.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all security-related incidents, leading the resolution with minimal disruption to the event.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a security management role.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with internal customers/leadership and external partners.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating with private security and law enforcement agencies.
  • Critical thinking under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated/self-starter.
  • Ability to influence decisions on appropriate security resources.
  • Adaptability and durability.
  • Solid computer skills, particularly with MS Office suite.
  • Must be able to respond to matters and issues off regular work hours.
  • Problem-solving skills to ensure sufficient security and safety strategies are applied.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • AED/CPR/First Responder Certified (must obtain within 6 months of hiring).
  • CPP, PSP, or similar certification.
  • Law enforcement, intelligence, military, or event security background.
